Sunbeam Car Club of New Zealand Inc
We are a small yet dedicated band of enthusiasts who love the Sunbeam marque. We have many social and car-related events during the year, culminating in our Annual General Meeting, which includes a Show 'n Shine, Concourse 'de Elegance and social events.

The AGM is held in a different town every year, and is generally run by a different branch each year. There are 5 branches in total; Auckland (and north), Waikato, Manawatu, Wellington and Mainland (all of South Island).

Our spare parts scheme sees hundreds of spare parts still available to keep our beloved classics on the road, as well as many reproduced parts that come from England and the USA. The club also reproduces some of its own parts for export, mainly to the USA.

A membership form is now available on this link.

SUNBEAM DVDs - 4th AND LAST SET AVAILABLE TO ORDER ONLINE!

As seen in New Zealand Classic Car magazine and AA Torque magazine

Available Now (July 2009): Alpine and Tiger

Comment from a recent purchaser:

At last just to say what a fantastic DVD collection of Rapier films. I never knew that Rootes produced so many! The club have done a marvellous job in tracking down these rare films and getting them transferred into this media. But not only that, the whole packaging and marketing of the discs themselves is great. A must have for any Rootes enthusiast!

The Sunbeam Rapier of New Zealand is to be congratulated for doing a first rate job of producing these DVDs!

Best wishes from the Post Vintage Humber Car Club, UK.

Steve Lewis,
Historian for PVHCC

Get Smart - Get a Sunbeam!

By Harold Wooldridge

(Borrowed from ‘Sunbeam Rootes’ the magazine of the Sunbeam Sportscar Owners Club of Canada)

I found the little red Alpine parked behind an auto parts store in Dallas in 1973. What I first noticed about the car was the two hinged panels on the right side of the bonnet. The car's interior looked strange, too. A panel with 2 large gauges was under the dash and sat on the transmission tunnel. A store employee told me the car had a blown engine and the owner wanted to get rid of it. I contacted him and bought the car for $100. He had bought it in California from the post-production auction for the series ‘Get Smart’. Someone else had already bought the companion Tiger used in all the chase scenes.
